Where tales of courage and adventure come to life

Fantasy adventures for readers aged 7-14,

where courage is tested and bravery changes everything.

About Me

I'm an author from the North of England, and my passion is helping kids by creating thought provoking stories for both children and adults, with a key focus on helping kids face their fears and draw courage from adversity.

While providing plenty of thrills and entertainment, my stories all have an underlying thread of young protagonists finding the courage to face up to their fears. Several of the collection also tackle everyday issues such as grief and trauma, as well as bullying and mental health.

I hope the collection will have a positive impact on young readers and encourages them to tackle their problems.

Books

Nobody likes being afraid. If you’re a child, would you dare to read these books on your own in a dark room? Don’t worry - it’s ok to be afraid.

These little books pack a punch of strange and scary stories, carefully crafted to ignite the imagination and leave you eagerly anticipating what lurks around the next corner.

Each book contains 14 highly original short stories for kids (and adults) to read together or alone, around a campfire, or as bedtime stories. These are strange little stories that may frighten, excite or make you think. Do aliens really exist? Who is Eyelash Man? What is Spoctopus? And who is the Fear Feeder? If you want to find out more, read on - and face your fears…

Blog

Some years ago, when my daughter was just seven, she had a fascination with horror stories. As we had no actual children’s horror books in the house I was forced to essentially make up stories on the spot, every evening – for years! After a year or so of inventing a story each night at bedtime, I told her that I would one day pick out the best stories and create a book.

She responded by rolling her eyes at me; eight years later, I finally found enough free time to achieve my goal, and I hope that my thought-provoking books create an opportunity for a good discussion and debate between children and parents about the meaning of the story.

What Readers Say

A fantastic collection of original age appropriate scary children’s stories. Me and my 9 year old son enjoyed this book from start to finish!. The author has a way a weaving positive messages into the right balance of creepy and scary.
The messages within the stories make this relatable to the point you can actually picture yourself in the story. This was particularly the case for us with The Popcorn Animals and MYPhone.

Some children may actually find some of the things they worry about, both real and make believe, spelled out in this book and its why I’d recommend it so highly. Reading about these things can make them less scary. Especially in this case with how the author positions and exposes relevant fears, turning them into positive outcomes and learnings.

Hope to read more from this author in the future!
